This wave breaks in front of the well known Diria Hotel, which is equipped with one of the biggest pools of Central America. Not the small pool in front, I am writing about the one in the back.
Pico Grande is the outside reef and Pico Pequeño the wave further inside. Both spots can get crowded!
The wave, which is sucked over the reef, builts up to a hollow wave at both spots. This right breaking wave is best surfed at mid-tide. A reef like this can bring your vacations to an abrupt stop. To get back into shape a spot like river mouth is the less risky option.
